Hair Loss Herbal Remedies – How Do Herbs Play A Role In Hair Loss Treatment

There’s a lot of talk as of late about hair loss herbal remedies. The discussion has been on whether herbal remedies are more effective in treating hair loss then conventional medication. What is the truth? Are they really effective at treating hair loss? Let us try to find the answers to these questions.

The most important cause of hair loss is the action of a hormone called DHT (dihydrotestosterone). When testosterone comes in contact with a certain enzyme it gets converted into dht. This condition, as most of you might be aware of, is far more common in men than it is in women. So if your going to combat your hair loss with herbal remedies it just makes sense that you use something that can stop the production of dht in your system. The question is can a herb or a group of herbs that are commonly found in hair loss herbal remedies do this?  Lets find out.

One thing we know for sure is that there are herbs out there that have the ability to stop dht production. They include stinging nettle, saw palmetto, and muira puama. These herbs are used all the time by naturopathy practitioners to treat hair loss.  These herbs are known for their therapeutic effects, but more importantly they are known for their ability to block dht production.

The American Herbalists Guild says that these herbs, stinging nettle in particular, can not only stop hair loss, but can also stimulate new hair growth. So if your going to combat hair loss naturally then make sure that you use these herbs at the very least.

Fortunately though you don’t have to try and come up with your own concocktion.  There are hair loss dietary supplements on the market today that use these herbs in their formula along with essential vitamins and minerials which induce hair growth.  This way you know that you’ll be taking the right herbs with the right vitamins in the right proportions for maximum effectiveness.

Before you go and buy a hair loss herbal remedy you should know that it’s not always a cosmetic problem. Diabetes and other diseases can cause hair loss as well.  Also taking certain kinds of medications can do it also. So before doing anything, check with your doctor to make sure that it isn’t something else causing your hair loss.
